Terms and Conditions

Under the Unclaimed Money Act 1995, we must publish each sum of unclaimed money including the identity of its owner (if known).

Internet access to unclaimed money is provided to assist owners locate and make a claim for their funds.

We must comply with the Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act 1998 (NSW) which regulates the collection, storage, quality, use and disclosure of personal information.

By accessing the unclaimed money search facilities, you agree you will not:

  • use the information for any purpose other than its intended use
  • knowingly contravene the provisions of any privacy legislation governing the use of information.

How do I make a claim?

Once you have located your money through the online search facility you will be able to make a claim online. If you are unable to submit an online claim please download a claim form.

If you make a false or misleading claim, you could be fined up to $11,000. We regularly conduct compliance checks and investigations making sure the people receiving unclaimed money are the rightful owners.

You are required to provide documents that establish your identity, your connection to the money and the enterprise that forwarded the money to us. The application form explains in detail what evidence is required.
