The Federal Government recently made changes to the paid parental leave scheme increasing the entitlement period from 18 to 20 weeks. Further amendments were also made to increase the entitlement period by an additional 2 weeks each year from 1 July 2024 to a maximum of 26 weeks from 1 July 2026.

The current ruling PTA 037 makes reference to 18 weeks entitlement. Revenue Ruling PTA 037 has been replaced with PTA 037v2 to reflect these recent changes made by the Federal Government.
