You can verify your identity by uploading your current identity documents to the portal or via your MyServiceNSW account.
If uploading your identify documents, you must provide any 2 of the following:

You need evidence of change of name if the name on any of the documents presented is different to the name of the claimant(s). For example, marriage certificate or change of name certificate.
If you do not have Australian proof of identification, you must provide certified copies of any 2 of the following:
You will need to submit one official document that demonstrates the link between the money’s owner and the address we have on our records.
For example:
utility document (electricity, phone, gas, or water bill)
bank statement
rate notice
residential lease agreement
correspondence from a government agency
insurance policy.
If you do not have any of these documents, consider contacting your roads authority (Transport for NSW or interstate equivalent), Medicare or Australian Electoral Commission to get your address history.
If you are unable to provide a connection to the address on our records, then you must provide a letter from the entity that sent us the money confirming you as the rightful owner(s). This includes the exact amount of unclaimed money our office is holding and any other relevant identifying information.
If your claim relates to money held in the name of a company, at least 2 current directors of the company (one current director if the company is a sole director company) must provide:
proof of identity documents for each director
current and historical Australian Securities and Investment Commission (ASIC) company extract.
official document that links the company to the address that the money is listed at on our records.
any other information that supports your claim.
Administration for deregistered companies is the responsibility of the Australian Securities and Investment Commission (ASIC). If the unclaimed money is held in the name of a deregistered company, contact us to discuss your circumstances.
If the deceased died without a will, they are said to have died ‘intestate’ and you need to apply for formal administration of the estate. For advice, contact the NSW Trustee and Guardian.
